New Advisor Workshop

If you’re a professional staff member and have been in your job for fewer than two years, join us early in Los Angeles for a pre-convention New Advisor Workshop. The New Advisor Workshop is March 24 from 2-5 p.m.

You’ll learn about CNBAM, how to get the most out of the convention and some tips and tricks from veteran advisers for dealing with your new position. Find out how other newspapers are structured, national advertising, dealing with students and much more.

Seasoned CNBAM advisors Christy Harrison of the Daily Vidette at Illinois State University and Lewis Brockus of The Orion at Cal State Chico will lead the session. You will also meet the CNBAM board members, and make some new friends before you go Gannett’s opening reception at 6:30 that evening.

Remember, the convention is March 24-28 in Los Angeles. The registration deadline of Feb.17 is quickly approaching. So sign up now! After the Feb. 17 deadline, the registration price goes to $225 from $175. Click here to find out more.

Testimonials

“Attending CNBAM as a first time representative from The University of Texas, was one of the most valuable experiences I had last year.  The workshop was insightful, motivating and provided an excellent platform to make connections within the college media world.”

“Three years ago, I was brand-new to my job and brand-new to CNBAM. I met so many great people and learned some very valuable information. Attending the new adviser workshop got me more involved and invested in CNBAM and I’ve reaped the rewards ever since. I would encourage any new adviser to attend.”
