Hiring the Best

Not until they look in CNBAM’s Hiring the Best resume book!

Get your resume updated and ready to go! It’s time to send your resume in for the Hiring the Best resume book for the Los Angeles convention.  Hiring the Best is distributed to recruiters and vendors at the convention in Los Angeles, and is also made available to members of the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) – all looking for the best college newspaper advertising employee in the country – YOU!

Does it work? Just ask last year’s students who are now working at 360 Youth/Alloy, and newspapers such as the Appeal-Democrat, a Freedom Communications publication. More than 100 students interviewed for jobs in Charlotte – your chance is coming soon!  You don’t have to attend the convention to send in your resume. Don’t miss your chance for all of our recruiters and vendors to see what a great employee you would make!

Submit your one-page resume and the information at the bottom of this page to Marcy Shonk by February 13.

Specifications:

• Only students at CNBAM member newspapers may submit resumes.
• Design your resume in vertical format, with one-inch margins all the way around. Limit your resume to one page, one side (you may bring a two-page resume to the convention to share with recruiters, but for the book, it MUST be one page).
• Write a brief objective statement indicating the kind of job you are seeking.
• If you are limiting your search to a specific geographic area, indicate this as well.
• Place your name and contact information prominently at the top of your resume.
• Include your expected date of graduation.
• Save your resume as follows:  lastname-firstname-school.doc.
• Deadline is Feb. 13 at 5 p.m.
• Resumes are to be emailed (PDF or Word format only – resumes saved in incorrect formats will be returned) to Marcy Shonk at Marcy.Shonk@indstate.edu. If you have any questions, you may call Marcy at 812-237-8242.
